Christian Education

Adult Sunday School

Study and discussion on a wide variety of subjects related to faith. The group meets weekly at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. All are welcome.
Children's Church Elementary school ages. Fun and fundamentals of faith. Class includes music, prayer and learning. The class is led by two adults. Begins following the Children's Moment in Worship.
Vacation Bible School Occurs annually each summer. The Sunday following VBS, the church invites attendees to worship and a celebration of VBS afterwards. Watch the calendar for future VBS dates.
Adult Bible Study Wide variety of topics. Meeting times vary. Past studies have included: study of Holy Communion, Beth Moore studies, thematic/topical studies, books of the bible. Watch calendar for offerings.
Youth – Middle and High School Ages Our youth group is growing and becoming much more active. This year they will be involved in various ministry opportunities as well as fun. Watch the calendar for detailed information. The group meets regularly on Sunday evenings.

Mission to the World

The church supports many mission programs and is active in various ministry settings. Below is a brief list of some of those. We invite all persons to join us in any of these:

  • Heart Havens Homes — Homes for intellectually handicapped adults. We support two homes near our church.
  • Eastern Henrico FISH — a non-denominational ministry to the disadvantaged located in eastern Henrico.
  • Operation Christmas Child — Demonstrating God's love in tangible ways to those most in need around the world. Volunteers pack gift boxes to be shipped overseas.
  • Homebound/Shut-In Ministry — Ministry with and for those unable to attend regularly. Includes communion and visitation.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry — Knitting and crocheting ministry to benefit those in need in various times of life.
  • Prayer Chain Ministries — A ministry of prayer and spiritual support for our community and church.
  • Cyclist Ministry — We support cross country cyclist with housing and other needs as they travel past our church on the cross country throughway.
  • Ward Elementary School — A ministry to support teachers/staff, mentor students and serve however needed.
United Methodist Women
Ministries to and for women of the United Methodist Church. This group meets monthly following morning worship.

United Methodist Men
Ministries to and for men of the United Methodist Church. The men meet monthly and often go out to dinner together
